Jersey City Hyatt – 2 Exchange Place
What a great place and space. Perfect view of lower Manhattan where you can clearly see the West Side of Manhattan across the Hudson River. You can see the New World Trade Center being built as well as The Empire State Building in Manhattan.
I have to say that the staff, from the waiters, to matre’d to the bridal attendant and even the event coordinator were incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. Such a rare combination. And the food, incredible. The cocktail hour had only a few stations but all were delicious and catered to anyone’s taste. The most unique I have seen was a slider’s station where you can choose any or all of the pulled pork (delicious), crab cake or burger with seasoned fries.
Of course for the eclectic or those who do not care for meat, they had a great sushi station with seaweed salad, California Rolls and of course salmon, tuna and whitefish.
Ok Cocktail Hour is over. But now we move into the dining room where an Arugula & Spinach Salad with gorgonzola cheese pecans and pears await…
The very best thing I have had in a long time, especially at a wedding, was the Veal Chop on a bed of polenta and broccolini.
The Chateau Briand on potatoes au gratin with sauce looked good as well… is that chopped liver on top? Wow… talk about indulgence!
While I am a fish eater, it was a tough choice, but I eat salmon often enough but not like this…
Let’s not forget dessert! This cake was from Carlo’s Bakery, famous from the TV Show Cake Boss starring Buddy Valastro.
A very nice slice of cake along with some mini zeppole — great ending to a great meat at a wedding from the Hyatt in Jersey City, New Jersey.
